A well-preserved copy of the "Book of the Dead" was just uncovered in Egypt. This copy was written on a papyrus scroll that is over 42 feet long. The Book of the Dead (Ancient Egyptian: ܋P܋ܻST܋q, r(#)w n(y)w prt m hrw(w)) is an ancient Egyptian funerary text generally written on papyrus and used from the beginning of the New Kingdom (around 1550 BC) to around 50 BC. |
