An annual bonus of 5-10% of your yearly salary is standard in a lot of industries, just as a 5-10% annual raise is considered standard. However, if you work on commission, you may see a significantly higher percentage. Your industry, company revenue, location, and level also heavily inform what's expected. We can see that over the past 14 years, the average bonus (inclusive of 13-month but excluding any one-off lump sum bonus) is 2.14 months. This excludes any performance bonus. The last time there was no mid-year bonus was in 2024, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit Singapore's economy hard. |
