The 2005 London Marathon: running races, in their various specialties, represent the oldest and most traditional form of sport. Sport pertains π to any form of physical activity or game,[1] often competitive and organized, that aims to use, maintain, or improve physical π ability and skills while providing enjoyment to participants and, in some cases, entertainment to spectators. [2] Sports can, through casual or π organized participation, improve participants' physical health. Hundreds of sports exist, from those between single contestants, through to those with hundreds of π simultaneous participants, either in teams or competing as individuals. In certain sports such as racing, many contestants may compete, simultaneously or π consecutively, with one winner; in others, the contest (a match) is between two sides, each attempting to exceed the other. |
