Feinting in the run-up to take a penalty kick to confuse opponents is permitted as part of football. However, feinting to kick the ball once the player has completed his run-up is considered an infringement of Law 14 and an act of unsporting behaviour for which the player must be cautioned. If all players on both teams score during a penalty shootout then the first kickers go again, followed by the second then the third, etc. If the teams are tied after five rounds of kicks, "sudden death" is implemented, giving additional rounds of one kick each until one team scores and the other misses. |
