There is a skill element to playing poker, which starts with you having control over which cards to play and which to fold. In addition, poker skill is required to put opponents on a range of hands, to bet the correct amount of chips to induce a call or fold, and more. And poker is a great example of applied intelligence in action. In a hand of poker there are only six decisions you will ever need to make: fold, check, call, bet, raise, all-in. Knowing which one to make is the ultimate test of applied intelligence. But sometimes it just comes down to intuition. |
